This Monday, you’ll have a chance to hear directly from our newly elected Members about their plans and priorities for the next term of the Assembly.
As many of you know, earlier this year we held our third set of elections. These were our biggest elections yet, and we thank everyone who participated in our democracy in action, and your contributions to Treaty.
Since then, our 34 Members have been meeting regularly, working on delivering Treaty for our communities and designing the internal structures of Gellung Warl, the new body created through Treaty. Members have also been selecting our leadership for key positions such as the Co-chairs, Elders’ Voice and Youth Voice representatives.
To learn about your new elected representatives we invite you to watch their inaugural speeches online, which will be delivered on Monday 22 June from 9:45am to 12:30pm in Parliament House on Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Country.
This is a chance for your elected Members to lay out their priorities and goals over the next term of Gellung Warl, and acknowledge the path walked before them.
If you would like to watch these speeches online, you can do so by tuning in online using the link below.
